Watch Wagon Train!
Wagon Train follows the adventures of a wagon train traveling from Missouri to California in the late 1860s. At the end of the first season when the Wagon Train arrives in California, the principals head back East to find a new Wagon Train for the next year. The Wagon Master, Major Seth Adams, was played by actor Ward Bond until his death in 1961. He was replaced by Wagon Master Christopher Hale (John McIntire). Robert Horton played Scout Flint McCullough, but in later seasons he was replaced by scout Cooper Smith (Robert Fuller). Other regulars included cook Charlie Wooster (Frank McGrath). Wagon Train also featured regular appearances by guest stars. The format was 60 minutes Black & White shows, except for the 7th season which featured 90min color episodes. The show was originally based on the John Ford movie Wagon Master.
