Heath falls for the daughter of Spanish nobleman Don Alfredo who lays claim to land sold by the Barkleys to their neighbors. Alfredo refuses to negotiate as long as the base born Barkley son continues to court his daughter (Katharine Ross).

Trivia: Paul Swensen (Bert Hadley) played Mr. Hansen on Little House on the Prairie. Katharine Ross played the role of Elaine Robinson (the daughter) in 1967's The Graduate, for which she received an Oscar nomination. She also starred with her husband, actor Sam Elliot, in the 1991 TV Western Conagher. More recently she has authored 10 children's books. Henry Wilcoxon was married to actress Joan Woodbury.
