Danny O'Moore (Mickey Rooney) travels West from New York to pay his big brother a surprise visit. When a Texas Ranger (Robert Preston) saves him from an outlaw attack, they discover they are both looking for the same man, for Danny's brother Patrick (Robert Stack) has become an outlaw.

Stack Jr. Her first husband was decorated war hero and Western movie star Audie Murphy. Robert Preston and Robert Stack were both nominated for Best Supporting Actor Oscars: Victoria, Victoria (1982) and Written on the Wind (1956). Based on the book South of the Rio Grande by Max Brand.
